carpe diem

This made a whole lot of diff to my day...=) such a girl!^^

Settling down in Indy~
The flight was so long, i'm looking for other routes!25 bloody hours - got myself a sacroiliatis ( self diagnosed =P )
My wonderful seniors came and swept me off the airport to their loving home, fed me and ushered me to rest =) The next day, they helped me settle in my new apt.
I'm so blest!*=)
Orientation was long..the new interns are nice =) Lotsa bbq/picnics/ball games to get us acquainted. Then...ICU started.
We interns are the ONLY doctor in the team apart from our staff. No senior residents/ No fellows- just us...it was intimidating...it was scary...esp On -calls.
I had my 1st on call - 6 admissions by self, non stop paging from the floor from the nurses ( when we're on call, we take care of the whole ICU peeps - and in my hosp - there is 5-6 ICU wards...i'm so not counting the numbers! )
It was havoc~ survived it, but overwhelmed...crashed in bed when i got home after being up for 36+ hours.
Then the Daisies came =) the endorphins are finally released into my blood stream ~=)
We ICU interns get along really well - which is awesome, cause in the situation we're in now- we need a shoulder to lean on and ears to listen to.
P.S: My 2 patients who were sedated and intubated improved so much - and for the 1st time in weeks - They talked to me!!!! i was exhilarated!=)

My two hippy folks~Dad being a no goody shaking the bridge trying to give mom a fright =) Guess where i got my notty genes?=P

Home is always heaven- for 5 weeks - i did no cooking/ no cleaning- i was being taken care of =) Cousins kept feeding me non stop-stuffing me with seafood/pudding/malaysian delicacies which they think i'm so deprived of! - this is a cake esp for me from my cousin!^^ a welcome home cake after 2 yrs of absence!
PS: I GOT MY CHAR KEUY TIAO WITH SI-HAM!!!*flippin' happy!*

Step-hen, Siew Li- IMU at Batu Pahat,Johor. Twas a great trip seeing the old familiar faces =) Oh and of course the long mamak tables =)

Yes, i hang out with these crazy people! =D Thanks guys for keeping me busy in KL tho u guys have work to attend to =) Miss ya sho!

My 1st dragon boat race ~ (international) at Putra Jaya. Super hot...

It feels like home :)

Stephen Bodger and i went on a BP trip ~ 3 hrs ride sped by so quickly as we joked about the yesteryears.
Then we met everyone =)
It felt so good~ i love the long dinner tables and non stop laughter; i heart the mamak moments.

That's one thing i'm gonna miss so much when i leave today.

to double check whether youth is wasted on the young...
i clicked through the history on my blogpage dating back to 2005...
my oh my- how i cracked up laughing at those pictures of yesteryears...
how me and my uni pals spend so much time making memories that count!

Fab Day! =D

My parents kept calling asking why aren't i out with my friends?
"They're working dad..."
But today! They came out for dinner with me =) *awww...so touched*
Kwan, Soo, Sho and i met up in Megamall and the 1st thing that striked me was Sho and Soo's work attire - Both in Brown stripes and long sleeves!
They look so adorable! =)
Off we go to find a makan place- Sushi-OH/OH-Sushi!
I love the times we spent chatting/ teasing each other =)
The gimmicks like Kwan's XO-XO; guys parading bags in front of BAZAAR.
We crack each other up ^^

Can't wait for more =)

Note to self: ought to kick start that study machine of mine...gonna work soon!
