Autumn weather is fantastic here in Indianapolis =)
Felt so good about myself when i finally took the time to listen to my medical student and went through the plan with her. She did an awesome, organized presentation to our boss =)
It was a whirlwind past 2 weeks in wards, so busy that i had no time to think or even to teach the medical students. I'm working on it =)
It felt so good telling my AIDS patient that he is improving. For the 1st time in hospital, he joked =) ( he's my spanish teacher haha )
It felts so good that my boss told me today: " you did an excellent job!" =)
Driving was awesome yesterday. Will be scheduling my test ( nerve wrecking! )
One more week! :) I feel so blessed!

Sudden urge to pack my luggage up and go see the world.
My day off today, woke up this am feeling purposeless.
It's a scary feeling.
I seriously need a life outside work!
So i took out my bunch of new cards and start scribbling on them.
I need a total of 30+ stamps.
Last night at Bob's was awesome. Home cook dinner, good companions and good laughs.
Love the cozy feeling with new found strangers =)
Tonight, Movie night! =)
My pal and i were having a chat about marriage, kids...
She said: " I'm ready for kids, lots of them!"
Man, i admire her courage and wondered whether it came from.
I'm so not ready, labor hurts...carrying a baby inside your belly means one thing to me: i can't hop on any plane as i wish.
Let's not think that now...
Daily Joys: got two prayers answered ! ^^ He is good all the time!

I'm walking ard without any jacket - Weather's awesome here! =)
3 juniors are here! Went out for dinnero at Hard Rock.
2 more coming! I am a big attraction! ( so joking )
Tonight, a new pal is making chilli so dinner's at his place =)
My 62 year old patient told me he wanted to be no code.
He told me :" Just let me go" ( if his heart was to stop )
I can't take that, i think it's a premature decision.
He lost his home, his financial independence, argued with his ex-wife, stop taking his medication and went in to heart failure.
I reminded him of his children, his grandchildren.
I explained to him his heart condition is manageable with medications.
I made an agreement with him to bring this up this issue on a later date after he discuss with his family.
I understand we should respect patient's wishes.
Somehow, my heart's telling me i will be giving him a premature death if i signed No code.
Ethical? I have no idea.
At least i can sleep well tonight.

Wishard Wards...
I'm going nuts - SO HECTIC!!!
But i love it - So much autonomy! :) We, residents ( kiddies ) RUN this hospital!
Initially i was sweating buckets: no one to look behind my shoulder and double check everything.
It's me...and my patient's sickness...
Tried to be super anal about everything, ended up going home super late ( 6 PM yesterday ).
1st night on call, wanted to learn every single iddy biddy details of my new patients, i didn't sleep for 33 hours . ( Plus the new admissions/ cross covers )
1st night, coded a young fella with H1N1, twice.
Yesterday, 1st thing in the morning, when i step foot into the hospital, one patient vomited feculent matter...*DANG* Belly was as big as a watermelon ready to burst.
Then two patients has a bump in their heart markers, *shoot*...heart attack.
Then my HIV patient's lab work came back with possible brain infection by a virus that may cause lymphoma ( thus this dude is going nuts on and off pulling out his IV's...) So i did his lumbar puncture all by myself --> i was praying so hard that i'll get the brain fluid praying for this poor man's discomfort and praying not poke myself with that needle and get HIV.
I love my oh so adrenaline rush life =D!

Believe while others are doubting.
Plan while others are playing.
Study while others are sleeping.
Decide while others are delaying.
Prepare while others are daydreaming.
Begin while others are procrastinating.
